Introduction
I will like to meet other like-minded people who are passionate for a cause, enjoy giving back to the community, all while having fun & making new friends! I've met amazing CFV-ers so far, and I look forward to meeting all of you!!
Have you ever volunteered before? In what way? (Tutoring, Kids, Humanitarian, Cleanup, Nature, Animals) Still doing so?
I've volunteered in many capacities : Led a group of 24 students to Huancayo, Peru in May 2006 to teach English in local orphanages, tutor English & Math to Hispanic community in Ann Arbor, MI, cooked and distributed lunchboxes at soup kitchens etc!
What do a peron's day-to-day actions REALLY say about them? What do the words MORAL FIBER mean to you? Tell us what you think...
I know my actions matter, because I've seen it first hand. It's great to read the "About" section, hopefully 80% of the current members actually remain active and participate at meetups! GO CHICAGO FUN VOLUNTEER!!
Are you new to Chicago? Might you need or can you help carpool? As a fun community of members, transport to non-city events never ends up a problem!
I moved to Chicago last July! So I am practically a local now (lol)!
Occasionally outside groups contact us looking for help. Is there a specific type (animals, kids, etc) of volunteering you would like us to keep you mind for in these situations?
I am open to all causes~

If you are all about giving back to the community, having fun and meeting other like-minded people, this IS the group for you! Everyone's super friendly, passionate about their causes and you will have amazing conversations here! The group really aim to facilitate a space for community members, organizations, and volunteers to connect and share their ideas. This is definitely one of the most innovative and creative Meetup groups I've seen around Chicago, and I am loving it!

Hey, Lisa! Thank you for your note. It has been some time since I have organized a volunteer effort of any kind (years, in fact), so I am a bit rusty. I will be in touch once I have had a chance to touch base with the folks at the Food Depository. I certainly would appreciate your help. I look forward to meeting you at some point, too.
